Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
random work question - email requests
do you handle emails immediately/as they come in or do you address them periodically throughout the day - like the last 15 minutes of every hour or something?
Re: random work question - email requests
I'm constantly checking emails but not always responding. If it's a quick answer (or TBH if I like the person), I generally respond right away. If it's more complex or something I just don't feel like dealing with, I leave the email "bolded" (unread) to come back to it later in the day/week.
If it's a personal email, I'm pretty much always responding though.
This is exactly what I do. If I'm in the lab when important emails comes through, I'll respond with a quick email about being in the lab and sorry for the delay.
I don't like to wait for people to answer my emailed questions, so I treat others as I want to be treated. (Yup, I sound like a kindergartener).
