Preggo check-in?
I had my 20 week ultrasound this morning, and it's a boy! I didn't really care either way, but I'm so excited to know and stop calling him it 
DH said he didn't care, but I'm sure he's secretly thrilled. Everything looked good, measuring about a week ahead of my due date, and baby is in the 75th percentile for size (not sure if that's weight/length or both).
How's everyone else feeling?

CONGRATS!!!! Must be so nice to know the gender! Happy that everything is looking good.
I'm doing ok - some good things (some REALLY good things, lol) and some things suck.
Hoping the tiredness eases up soon!

i'm feeling good, appetite is back and energy is up. i ran a 5k this weekend for the first time in a while.
over the holidays 3 people have offered to throw us showers this spring which is super generous and cool cuz babies are expensive. i'm wondering if i can register for daycare...
SD can you send some of that energy my way please?
We've been lucky with the baby shower offers too, but I'm still not convinced that we want one. It's not really my thing. If we do have one, it will be really small.

Babies and all their crap are so freakin' expensive. And showers are a great way for family and friends to celebrate you and your baby.
We had 4 showers thrown for us. A couples shower shared with 2 other pregnant friends, showers at each workplace, and an obscenely huge family and friends shower that yielded more swag then I've ever seen in my life. I get embarrassed when people want to do something that for me but my showers were so fun and lovely.

Maybe, but it's not like ANY of my family or friends from home would be involved (baby showers aren't done there), and DH's family are hours away so none of them would likely come either.
People are asking for registry details though, so maybe we'll do one of those. I also heard they give good 'closing discounts' so it's worth doing even with no shower.
We'll probably buy some of the more expensive stuff 'gently loved'. So hopefully we'll make it work one way or another.
I agree... If someone wants to throw you a shower, just go with it. We ended up having 3 showers (DH's family, my family and a work shower). I did return the majority of crap that was purchased for the showers and used the gift cards for actual things I wanted/needed.
I am so ready to be done being pregnant. I was secretly hoping that he would come a little early so that I would not have to go back to work after the holidays, but here I sit. I may have to strangle the next person who says "what no baby yet?".
Congrats! Boys are so much fun! We aren't finding out...I'm hoping it limits the clothing we get at showers! (I have no choice. Our moms are already jonesing to plan it).
As for us, I heard the heartbeat for the first time yesterday on our doppler. It was the most amazing sound ive ever heard!!
Definitely one of the most awesome sounds. Just wait until your first u/s!
I'm impatiently waiting. 3 more weeks!

And here's to the first round of 2012 nestie babies!
I don't post much but I'm so miserable I need to vent! I'm almost 35 weeks pregnant with twins, can't walk, back hurts, cramping and my BP is high. I go 2x a week for non stress tests, once a week for doppler/ultrasounds and once a week for regular OB appts. I'm about done with all of this!!
My c-section is scheduled for 1/27 and as much as I'd like these kids to bake longer I just want to feel normal again.

Congrats on the boy, Jess they are fun! I have two (ages 4 and 8) and a boy and girl on the way.
Wow! Good luck, I'm sure the next few weeks won't be fun, but you can do it!

re: showers. its my turn to suck it up and eat cake. i hate the attention, but love my family and friends and parties, so i'm happy to have an 'excuse' for everyone to get together. oh. and the presents are nice. cuz babies = dollars yo.
also. this high chair should come in adult sizing. so rad.
