Anniversary party?

I am the party coordinator for my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary party. I am renting a limo that will surprise them after mass, and taking them to a (spot) for dinner with family and friends. (My brother is going to be putting together a photo montage video for them to watch at party)

My next step is to figure out a large enough place but not too expensive for my brother and I to afford. Number of guest to invite is around 50 maybe a little more or a little less, not quite sure yet, have to talk to my grandfather and see how many of his family he wants us to invite.

Any ideas for resturants or halls in RI or something close to RI would be great...

Re: Anniversary party?

  • Going based on recent showers / events I've been to: 12 Acres in Smithfield. Crickets Restaurant in Smithfield. Crystal Lake Country Club. Kirkbrae CC has a smaller room too. Wright's Farm Restaurant in Harrisville. You could try Knights of Columbus halls or VFW halls.

  • all the places Alicia mentioned are nice and affordable.  What season is the party going to be?  Will you want something outside or inside or a place where you can do both.

  • Also, where's the church? That might help narrow down locations that wouldn't be too far of a drive for you and your guests.

  • My friend just had her baby shower at Chester's in Smithfield, there is a great little room in the center, very New England chic, with a wood fire and everything. The prices were very good and it fit 60 people with a buffet and gift table very comfortably.

My aunt's b-day party was at the Cowesett Inn 2 years ago, thats more hall like, good pricing and a dance floor area.

     Good luck!
