So, I went to the dr today...
... and I was, as I seem to be perpetually pessimistic, totally convinced that this was going to be the day when the other shoe dropped. My morning sickness and sore boobs disappeared about a week ago, which I thought was about a week and a half too early.
BUT, everything is looking a-okay in there! I heard the heart beat (it sounds like I've got a little pony running around in my tummy) and then went down for an ultrasound and actually got to see the baby. Not only that, but the baby was measuring a week ahead of my first dating ultrasound (which also makes perfect sense to me given the whole weird timing thing that I had going on).
So, I guess this means I'm going to have to move into the embracing it stage and move out of the worrying stage. There's nothing I can do one way or the other, and now that I've seen and heard the squiglet, I don't think I can hold out on getting attached any longer - which I was totally doing. I'm going out tomorrow to buy some baby books and get reading!

It went well! My father was (as expected) nonplussed, my mother burst into tears in surprise and Phil's family was over the moon. We ended up telling them the day after Christmas as his little brother was out drinking all day (at least this meant we told them after his bender).
I'm 12w3d now - based on the initial dating, I should have been measuring 11w5d. I'm bettering on a Saint Swithin's Day (July 15th) baby (which, given how much I quote that episode of the Simpsons, fills me with great hilarity).
