Are you a germaphobe?

Is there anything in particular that you find disgusting or go out of way to avoid?

Re: Are you a germaphobe?

  • Can you be a germaphobe here? If you were, entering a bathroom in many bars or restaurants would be quite the challenge.

I do get grossed out by wiping snot and barfing kids, but I've got to get used to it! I'm just sick of being sick this year, not germaphobic.

  • I dont think I am a germaphobe but strange things freak me out. I hate it when people dont wash their hands after going to the bathroom so I try never to touch the bathroom door with my hands and I am really careful about raw meat. I never put it in the same bag when I buy it at the supermarket.

Bathrooms here are nasty. I remember I went to a club in Germany once and I went to the bathroom after midnight and the bathroom was so clean that I could eat off the floor.

  • Toilet habits (or just complete lack of hygiene) in certain countries can be quite disgusting.

I get grossed out by spitting. Especially when they spit on the sidewalk. Ewwwwwwwwwwww! Been known to tell idoits on base to aim for the plants rather then right where I was about to step, TYVM.

  • I don't think I'm a germaphobe but I hate shaking hands and feel like I need to wash them soon after. I don't mind kissing on the cheek to greet people though!
  • I'm not a germaphobe, but I do get things like deodorant and stuff from the back of the shelf. When I was out shopping in England with my FMIL a woman walking down the aisle right in front of us in a tube top took the deodorant right off the shelf, used it on her underarms, and put it back.

    eeeeew!

I am not at all a germophobe in most cases (although the above anecdote totally grosses me out). The only thing I really get that way about is raw meat. I hate touching it regardless, but when I was pregnant I couldn't even look at it without barfing, lol.

  • Yes. I have MS so hold onto railings constantly when going up/down stairs. The Tube freaked me out so badly when I lived in London that I was the dork with a bottle of Purell in my bag.
