A week in Europe- which destination would you choose?

DH and I would like to take a short trip to Europe this spring (late April/early May), and we're having a tough time deciding where to go.  Since we only have a week, we'd like to concentrate on one larger city and maybe take a day trip or two to surrounding attractions.  Our list of potential cities includes London, Paris, Munich, and Prague.  Which of those would you choose?  Or, would you go somewhere else?

We haven't traveled too extensively in Europe, although DH studied abroad in college (Austria) about 10 years ago.  DH is not feeling Italy or Spain (we went to Barcelona and Rome/Florence two years ago), but I'm open to going anywhere.  Our budget is around 4k, plus we have credit card points to put toward the flights.  TIA for your advice!

  • I would go to Paris if you haven't been. good food and sights!
  • London, Paris or Prague would all be amazing. Munich = meh.

  • Of those cities, Paris or Prague.  I only spent a 4 day weekend in Prague, but I could have stayed longer and would really like to have explored outside the city.

  • Of those, I'd do Paris.  I loved it (years ago) and can't wait to go back with my husband sometime soon!
  • Paris. Always Paris.

  • My first recommendation would be Paris, with London right behind. You will get slightly more for your money in Paris compared to London, but you really can't go wrong with either as both have plenty of sightseeing options within the city and lots of day trip possibilities.
  • Paris!!!  The city alone can keep you busy for a week, but there are also a wide variety of day trips that you can easily make from Paris.

    Geneva

  • London and then Paris (not a huge fan).

  • The consensus here seems to be Paris, and I really liked Paris so that is definitely a great choice.  But I'd choose Prague first in a heartbeat.  DH and I went there on a baby moon and had a fabulous time.  It is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever been to.  Like Sibil, I would love to return and do some day trips outside of the city as well.

  • I live in London so I'm biased (I do think you can do some amazing stuff which lots of people don't do and so don't see the even cooler side of the city that I've seen...let me know if you go and I'll point out a few things).  Of Paris and Prague, I'm split as I love both.  Paris is iconic and Prague is seriously old worldy.  Prague would be the cheapest and there are fun day trips you could do too.  Really - it's about what you want to do and your interests...museums, cool walks and a variety of food for London, French food for Paris as well as just a pretty city, unique old world style and decent food plus cheap for Prague.

  • Oh man, you guys aren't making this any easier!  ;)  Thanks for all of your input.  I'll probably have some follow-up questions for you guys once DH and I discuss.
