    this exactly.

  • I used to wash her's separately in Dreft but now I just mix them since she didn't have a reaction to tide. But I still use the dreft when the load is mostly hers and mine because I like the smell.
  • I used Dreft until she was like 1, but now I use Tide Free and Clear on all of our clothes ( I have bad reactions to some detergents as well).  I do wash her clothes separately because I know I have to do her laundry once a week, mine tends to wait a little longer....
  • Even before kids we always used the free and clear detergent (usually Purex or All brand).   Recently we tried Purex baby- I like the smell and have been using it for mine and DH's clothes also. Depending on how much laundry we each have, I'll sometimes do it together and sometimes seperate.  I don't think its a big deal for them to be together.

She has her own hamper but I'll often throw her stuff in ours if I am emptying her bag in my room.

  • I had a big bottle of Dreft when he was born that lasted like 8 months. And I always had a hamper in hisroom and washed his stuff separate. Then I tried All Free and Clear abd still washed his separate. But now, his gets thrown in with ours and I use Kirklands HE from Costco and Downy with no problems.
  • We use Purex free and clear. I do his clothes separately b/c its just easier. I sometimes do his clothes with mine but then I get lazy and they sit there so its easier for me to do his clothes separately.

  • I only used dreft in the very beginning and mostly bc it was given as gifts. I switched over to All baby an now use any of the free and clear detergents and fabric softners. A has always had a hamper in his room so I've continued to do his laundry separate from ours.
  • I used a free and clear in the beginning but after the first few months just washed everyone's stuff together in the same detergent. Neither of the boys ever had any issues.

I still use Dreft...just waiting for this one to run out.

  • I started with All Free and Clear but a few months ago, I just started using Kirklands powder because he never reacted to our clothes.  Mix it all in because I drag our laundry everywhere with us.  I need a washing machine, haha.

  • I only use Dreft on his clothes-hamper and wash seperately.

  • the whole family uses tide free and clear, because i figured the baby is up against our clothing most of the day so it only made sense that we were washed in that too. when ava was about a year, i switched back to regular tide since i am pretty sure the daycare workers she spent so much time cuddling weren't using special detergents and she didn't have skin sensitivities.

we're still using the free and clear since Sam was born - she does have sensitive skin but i bet this doesn't make a big difference since i think hers is food allergy based anyway - but mild.

we have one hamper in each room. i tend to wash the girls' stuff together since it's similar weights and more efficient on the dryer cycle. i even separate our colors into weights - heavy jeans and sweaters in one load and lighter thinner items in another. but there's no reason not to wash their stuff with ours.

  • I use whatever free & clear detergent is on sale for everyone's laundry. G has a separate hamper and I tend to do his laundry separate from ours although, I will often throw a few things of mine own in the same load. DH does his own laundry.

  • I used Dreft and then Tide free and clear for the first few months, and then did a test batch of laundry with her clothes in the same detergent I use for our clothes. No reaction, so I just used regular detergent for everyone now. But, I do still wash her clothes seperatly and have a seperate hamper for her, just because it's easier for me though....not out of need.

I'll probably use tide free and clear the first few months for the new baby again, and hopefully just transition again like I did last time.
