Highs? Spent NYE out to dinner at Melting Pot with friends, then stayed overnight in a hotel. DS slept over at ILs for the first time and everything went great!
Lows? DS is on some kind of food strike and is refusing to eat anything but bottles. It is frustrating.

Highs? We got a lot done around the house - moved some furniture into our room from the guest room (to make room for baby's stuff!) and took down all our Christmas decorations (tree goes out with the trash tonight :-( ) I also made a lot of progress on the baby blanket I've been crocheting forever! (for a friend). we took the dogs to the dog park in Locust Point which is wonderful (as an FYI to city folk with dogs) and Jackson had a blast and was exhausted for the rest of the day. Woohoo!

Lows? Um none really i don't think. The end I guess lol?

Do anything fun for New Year's? H and I stayed in, had a really nice dinner, and started Rome (H got me the first season for christmas.) It was a quiet NYE but really perfect for what we wanted.

Read anything good? I'm still reading City of Thieves -it's excellent, just for some reason it's taking me a while.

Watch anything good? Rome is pretty good so far.

Eat anything good? Mmm I made blonde brownies! always yummy.

What are you looking forward to this week? Finishing the laundry! I love the feeling of no dirty laundry, even if it is a brief feeling ha. We're going crib-shopping on Saturday and I'm excited about that too.

Highs? It was just relaxing and mellow, took care of some little errands and just overall had a nice easy weekend.

Lows? We found out late last night my MIL is in the hospital. She has a blocked intestine and might have to have surgery today.

Do anything fun for New Year's? We tried to go to the "Midnight @ 7" event at the Symphony of Lights in Columbia, but DD got cold after an hour - so we had to leave before the fireworks. I'm bummed. I really liked walking through the lights though - it was fun and I want to do it again next year!

Read anything good? I'm reading Gone With the Wind still.

Watch anything good? We watched The Hangover 2 on NYE - it was funny

Eat anything good? We made an awesome dinner on Sunday night.

What are you looking forward to this week? short work week and then next week I'm off on Friday - so I'll have another 4 day weekend w/ 3 4 day weeks!

Highs? Went to afternoon tea at Moulin de Paris with my Mom and it was excellent.
Lows? No lows, just tired of renovations.
Do anything fun for New Year's? Nope, we worked on the house all day so we were pooped. Got carry out and watched a movie. I think I passed out before 11.
Read anything good? The Carrie Diaries, Summer in the City and Cool, Calm and Contentious. Just started Double Dexter today.
Watch anything good? Friends with Benefits was pretty good.
Eat anything good? Tacos one night and pizza from Carabbas was really good.
AWs, Vents, FFCs, comments? My dad just retired and he's driving me crazy. I appreciate that he wants to help us with our house but he usually just creates more work for us b/c he's not good at anything home improvement related and we always have to go behind him and redo everything and then clean up his messes. He had a bad cold and kept complaining that he was sick this past weekend so we both told him several times not to come and yet he showed up everyday. The last thing we need is to get sick now too.
What are you looking forward to this week? Nothing really.. just the weekend.

Do anything fun for New Year's? No, we were in bed by 10:30. I was annoyed that DH wanted to spend time together, but ended up playing his Star Wars game. I was tired and had to calm Lucy, so I just went to bed.
Read anything good? I finished the Warlock by Michaal Scott, which was good and Veronica by Mary Gaitskill for my book club. Sadly, I've read the book before and didn't remember it. It was 'meh'.
Watch anything good? Got mostly caught up on tv shows - Grimm, vampire Diaries, Ringer, Once Upon a Time
Eat anything good?
AWs, Vents, FFCs, comments? It was a long week taking care of DD. I think if I was a SAHM it wouldn't be an adjustment because I would be used to it. I thought I baby-proofed and I turned my back for a second and DD cut herself on a food processor blade that was wedged in the cupboard sideways that neither DH nor I saw. Clearly, I failed as a mom that day. Next year, she is going to DC for a few days, even though I do not have to work.
What are you looking forward to this week? Having a short work week.

AW: DD is such a good toddler. She's surely a toddler (meaning INTO EVERYTHING!!!) but overall she's really good. I just love every second with her and how smart she is and everything she's learning and soaking up daily.

vent: While DD is overall a good toddler, she SUCKS in the sleep dept. It took us over 2+hrs last night to get her to go to sleep. It's getting really old, really frustrating, and i'm just done with it. I really wish I had a pic of how she FINALLY fell asleep last night because it was hilarious.

What are you looking forward to this week? a short week, church ladies christmas party and a positive attitude

Highs? Spending all weekend w/DD and DH. Loved every moment of it.
Lows? Dropping DD off at new daycare this morning. She cried and I was cried on my way to work, but she's fine now.
Do anything fun for New Year's? Haha, if you mean cuddling a 2 year old from the scary fire works as fun, then yes.
Read anything good? I just finished my first book on my kindle The One You love
Watch anything good? The Ravens game on Sunday.
Eat anything good? We did fondue on NYE and that was really fun.

Highs? Going to my nephew's soccer game Saturday morning with DH and then just having a completely productive day from that point out

Lows? not cleaning the house thoroughly and getting decorations down and moving furniture around...it's in need and we just keep avoiding it

Do anything fun for New Year's? 13 of us (family) went to Fogo de Chao for dinner. It was great except for the fact that we had 4:00 reservations so by 6:15, I was in a meat coma and by 10:00 I was sound asleep

Read anything good? nope...

Watch anything good? DH and I watched Out of Sight on Sunday morning...seen it before but I love me some Clooney

Eat anything good? the Lamb at Fogo was awesome

Highs? Getting together with friends both Friday and Saturday, lots of time with DH and DD, a day alone with DH - it was great all-around.

Lows? Not getting the damn Christmas decorations taken down. We're just being lazy.

Do anything fun for New Year's? As with the previous few years, DH's best friend and his wife came over. Instead of cooking this year, we picked up a spread from Wegman's, so I got to enjoy it even more. We played Wii games with DD, sang karaoke, and just talked. They left around 1:30, I hurried to clean up, and crashed. It was an awesome night.

Read anything good? Nope, didn't pick up a single book.

Watch anything good? DH and I saw the new Sherlock movie on Monday - it was fun. And I'm watching The Vampire Diaries on Netflix and love it.

Eat anything good? Wegman's crab cakes, mini spanikopita, and fruit tart were all great!

What are you looking forward to this week? Today I met one of my BFFs for a spontaneous teatime - it was a nice treat! Nothing much else planned: blood work and a doctor's appointment, but they aren't so much fun.
