IVF Ladies-SHG?

On Monday I have my sonohysterogram with trial embryo transfer. I was just wondering if there is anything I need to do to be prepared for this? Do I need to take something for pain beforehand? Will I be able to drive myself or do I need DH to take me? Thanks!!

Re: IVF Ladies-SHG?

  • From what I remember DH went with me, but I was able to drive myself home. I didn't take any pains meds, it wasn't bad at all. Good luck!!

  • I took a couple of Advil beforehand but I didn't think it hurt any more than a pap.  I would make sure to use the pad they give you because they use a lot of saline.
  • lol Literally when I had mine I was shaking in my boots because the HSG hurt me so so badly. The SHG was a breeze. Jolie did it and she was awesome. I felt nothing.

  • Good luck to you!

  • A little crampy when they did it.  I didn't know I was going to have one, so I was more surprised than anything.  Some ibuprofen wouldn't hurt, but you should be fine.

  • I didn't need anything.  I thought it was easier/less uncomfortable than the HSG.

I ditto taking a pad/pantyliner.  I went straight back to work after and was glad I had one!
