It sucks, but -

I need to admit to myself that I just have to purge about 95% of my shoes.  My feet grew at least a full size during pg, and they aren't going to magically shrink up.

It isn't bloat, Ker - they are bigger now, and cramming my feet into tiny shoes hurts and is jacking up one of my toenails. (TMI, but true.)

I have needed to slim down the collection for a while, and I guess this is just the universe's way of giving me a shove.

But there are a few pairs that I am REALLY sad I can't wear any more, and I think there are a couple I will have to replace right away. (I have been wearing the same western inspired boots every day for almost a month at this point, and they were kind of cheapys so I am worried they will fall apart and then I will have nothing.

I haven't been able to bring myself to try on my expensive workout shoes, because I bet they won't fit either and there is no way I can afford to replace those for a while.

/petty shoe vent.

  • :(  If I ever have kids, this scares me.  My feet are already big.  I would be shopping with the drag queens.  Last I saw Costco had some good athletic shoes on sale for an amazing price.
  • Sounds like a good excuse to go shoe shopping. Wearing shoes that are too tight can really damage your feet between ingrown toenails and neuromas so it's better to get rid of them than pay the price in pain and possibly surgery.

  • i had the same problem, my feet grew over a size from having molly. She's almost 2 and i'm just now purging my own shoes.  I'm sad becuase there some i really loved. oh well.  time to buy new shoes i guess

can you share your collection of favorites with some friends who might love your favorite styles as much as you love them?

  • I thought I was in the clear when my feet didn't grow with Noah and Zach.  Then came Cole.

I had to get rid of all of my cute shoes and start from scratch.

  • I had two pairs that became too tight after DD and I resold them at Buffalo Exchange. I figured at least I could get some money back to buy new ones!
  • My feet have actually gone down a 1/2 size, I think I'm already shrinking.  I was gonna say you could crate and store them but in 15 years they won't be in style anymore.  See if anyone here wants to buy them!  Then you can replace with more ease.

  • I'm in the same boat as WC, I already wear and 11 or 12 depending on the style =( I'm going to be wearing the shoeboxes on my feet and flip-flops will be my permanent shoe of choice (which they kind of already are) because my heels can hang off the backs and they are cheap.  Oy

I prayed that my feet wouldn't grow because I didn't know if they'd make (cute) shoes in the next size up. Thank goodness it didn't happen but I'm already cursed with big feet :(

Have a ton of fun shopping.

  • What size would these cast-offs be?? *blink blink*
  • 6-7... there are some cute ones too. Maybe i should do a special post on "and I wore this" with pics to see if anyone wants any before I do anything. Then again, it is pretty much every pair I ever wore on that bloc. :::sob:::
