Whoopsie

Well next time I decide to take my 13yo to an R rated movie, I will ask friends that have gone first what it's about.  Not having read the book I will say The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was a good movie but disturbing and not for my dd. :(  First parent fail of 2012.

  • Oopsie!

If it makes you feel any better, when I was probably 14, my brother brought home "American Pie" for all of use to watch (my mom, my dad, and me).  I was pretty horrified.

  • Oops.  I felt inappropriate watching it with all the senior citizens in the theater - ha! When she got naked for Mikael, some creeper said, "yeaaah".  I would expect this in younger crowds, but besides my friends and I, there was no one under 55 in there.

  • =0  Apparently one of my coworkers found out that one of our students got a Kindle for Christmas and was excited to read the book... yeeeah, she had to email the mom and explain that rape, murder, and sodomy were in the book and perhaps not the best topics for a 5th grader =/

I got to sit through Pulp Fiction with my mother as a teen.  Fun stuff.
