Rockland Girls - Parks

Because Baby H's birthday is May 11th, I'm seriously considering having an outdoor BBQ.  I live in a teenie tiny apartment so obviously, I need to hold it elsewhere.  I'm considering the pavilion/covered shelter areas at Germonds and Congers Lake Memorial Park.  It's been a long time since I've been to either... which one would you go with and why?  FYI: I'm driving by tomorrow and picking a place but thought you ladies might be some help! :)  Thanks.

Re: Rockland Girls - Parks

  •  I would def NOT rec Germonds right now. That is where they are storing all the fallen trees from the snow storm in November. The entire parking lot is filled, 20 ft high. Its really creepy.

If I could have an outdoor party, I would DEF use Haverstraw Bay Park. Its our favorite park, plus it has a huge picnicking area with a nice pavilion. The whole park is brand new and its right on the water, so you cant beat the views.

I totally forgot about the tree issue at Germonds!!  It's been awhile since I drove that way.  I wonder if that would be cleaned up before May... doubtful.  I don't see any info about renting the Pavilion at Haverstraw Bay though... I wonder if it's possible.

  • Conger memorial park has a beautiful view of the lake. I'd go with that one. But I'm biased. Lol. The cost last year was $105 for the pavilion but it may have gone up $5-10.  That's for the whole day.

As  for Germonds I'm sure the trees would be cleaned up by the spring. They outdoor maintence guys really do a great job keeping the parks clean and beautiful!

I had my baby shower in the Congers Pavillion  and Im considering having A's bday there as well.

    GL!!!!
