Happy Hump Day!

Wednesday already?  Ok!

Thankfully it's a bit less cold here today than it was yesterday.  It was bitterly cold out there. -30?C (-22?F) with the windchill.

Baby brain struck again hard last night.  I was making butternut squash mac and cheese (link) that I've made a billion times before and as I was putting the breadcrumbs on top I thought I'd add some cheese too.  Only to turn around and discover I had totally forgotten to add all the cheese to the sauce.  I blame the fact that the sauce is already orange.  Oy.  It all turned out well in the end, but man I felt dumb.

Derek put away most of the Christmas stuff yesterday, so now we just have to take down the tree.  I think Chloe will miss it.

Tonight, a quick workout, crossword time with Derek and early to bed!

How is everyone today?

Re: Happy Hump Day!

  • Oh Raynes, don't you just laugh at those moments. I had so many of them while pregnant.

Well I went to my appt yesterday and after having my breast squished into about 10 different positions, I am happy to report that there was NO CHANGE!  I am good for another 6 months. Yes that deserves all caps. Big Smile

This whole transistion to DC and the boys being continuously sick is really getting old. Christian was up 1/2 the night with a deep cough. (not croup sounding) I just feel so helpless, because there isn't much I can do.  I am keeping an eye on him though in case it turns into an ear infection like Zach.  Everywhere I have read it takes some kids 3 or 4 months to basically get past all the illnesses.  Ugh. I am so over it, and I am sure they are sick of it too!

Tonight DH is off for a few days, so I am hoping for a quiet evening with him.

    Have a great day ladies.

  • Great news kats!

I went home early yesterday and relaxed on the couch to try to fight off this cold.  No such luck, since I woke up this morning with a nastier cough.  Ugh.  Lots of tea for me and hope to leave early again today.

Unfortunately, I'm not up to working out, so our push to be better about getting to the gym is not playing out as planned.  Hopefully I'll be better by this weekend and we can get some momentum going.

  • YAY kats that is wonderful news!

Last night was DH's first night back to work since deceber 21st. It was nice to have the tv to myself, but it felt strange going to bed without him. He is off tomorrow and starts days on Friday. He will be working all weekend so I am planning on catching up on the rest of my shows on the dvr this weekend.

My mom cooked chilli last night and invited me and Preston over to eat since Jordan was with my grandmother he wasn't around. It was so yummy and so nice to not have to cook and clean.

Tonight DH and I are cooking a breakfast supper (jordan's favorite) and hopefully getting Jordan to bed early and ready for his first day back to school tomorrow.

  • Such great news, Kat!

Hello, all! I'm still in bobble-head world--I don't have a ton of symptoms, but I feel off. I skipped the gym last night, and we'll see about tonight. Darn weird cold.

Last night after Josh got home we had an early dinner. I took some Robitussin, a hot shower, and then hopped into bed. I totally conked out after reading for a bit. Tonight, depending on how I feel, it might be more of the same. Josh has an appointment so he won't be home until late. Thanks to my lackluster appetite and my lack of motivation when it comes to cooking, that means cereal for dinner.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

  • Fantastic news kats!

Last night was good. I had a good workout and then started taking down the Christmas decorations. I got everything taken off the tree and garland and put away all of the other ornaments strewn around my house. All that's left now is just taking down the big stuff and putting everything back into the attic. Hopefully that will happen tonight.

  • Good morning, ladies.

    Great news, Kats!

That recipe looks good, raynes.  I'm going to try it - I'm a new fan of the butternut squash.

I'm switching up my schedule to exercise before work, since evening workouts haven't been going well lately and work is going to get extremely busy.  I went to spin at 5:15 this morning and I feel great!  I do need to plan my breakfast better, but I think this is going to work.  Spin M-W-F and BootCamp Tu-Th.  2012 here I come!

  • Woo! That's awesome kats!

I can't decide what I want to do today - get all of my marking done, or go shopping. I have a feeling the more fun thing will win out. We're finally buying that new bed, which means I need to go get some linens for it! Also, I got an amazing French baking book for Christmas from BIL, and I really want to make some brioche today. I have 5 days of vacation left, and I plan on enjoying all of them!

  • Today I went to the doctor for what was supposed to be a follow up to my sinus infection/bronchitis from before Christmas.  It turned into a discussion of the plantar faceitis in my right foot and changing my blood pressure medication back to something that actually works since we aren't trying to get pregnant any more.  This lead to ugly crying for the first time in months.

Then, I walk into the office with the fax machine going insane and my boss asking me the same questions he asked me (and I answered) yesterday.  Today is not starting off well.  Plus, it's a$$ cold outside - 16* F when I left the house this morning.

I did manage to put gym clothes AND socks and shoes in the car this morning, so I'll stop by the gym on the way home and then get my new (old) medicine from the CVS.  Which means I won't get a parking spot when I get home, but so be it.

    ETA:  Great news, kats!

  • Today is turning into a horrible day at work.  We had 2 pharmacists call in sick and we were running short today to begin with so we are just in emergency mode here.  Hopefully I don't have to stay late because we start our prenatal classes tonight. Yay!

At least I already got to the gym this morning but I think today is going to be long and exhausting.

    kats - great news!

reba I i hope the rest of your day goes well

  • Yay kats!!

Today my parents are coming over to my place instead of me going to theirs, so that I can take the car in for a tune-up and also get the snow tires put on. (January seems a ridiculously late time to be getting snow tires, but we didn't have any time in November or December and there was barely any snow anyway.)

I think I'm also going to sign us up for some mom & tot swimming lessons Big Smile

  • great new Kat! so happy for you!

I had an eye exam last night and discovered that my eyes have finally stopped developing. they've been consistently getting worse since I first started wearing glasses, but I've been wearing the same prescription for about 2 years now, so that's a relief.

pretty uneventful day here. just working and then heading home to my comfy couch. I'm hoping Sean doesn't decide to take my Ambien again tonight. while I'm glad he gets great sleep on it, I'm not in the mood to be molested tonight, haha.

  • Such great news Kat!!

Last night was pretty uneventful, I picked up a few things at the grocery store, made a quick dinner (grilled cheese with bacon, yum!), and watched Teen Mom 2. I can't believe how stupid Janelle is, I just want to reach through the TV and choke her!

Nothing exciting on tap for today, just work. blah.

  • Morning!

DH and I were lazy last night. We made a quick dinner and laid around and watched TV and talked. They made some big corporate announcements at his company yesterday which shook things up pretty good.

I made a green monster-ish smoothie for breakfast and it's wonderful. Though I don't recommend trying to pour smoothie into a narrow necked nalgene bottle. whoops.

  • Katz - yay for good news!

    Reba - (((Hugs)))

Morning ladies. I worked late last night which threw off the rest of my evening. Thankfully MIL sent DH home with leftovers so I didn't need to make dinner and it was nice to have one less thing to worry about. It was another rough night as far as sleeping. We were up at 11, 2 and 5 am so I slept in two hour increments throughout the night and I'm exhausted today.

I hope today will be busy so that the day goes by fast. I didn't get to go to the market last night so I'll need to go today. I have no idea what to make for dinner and I'll probably just wing it. Hope everyone has a good day.

  • I am SOOO tired, but today was relatively uneventful.  My kids were pretty good all day and then my meeting after school actually ended on time, which is a rarity.  Also, I am off on Friday for a conference and Monday for a doctor's appointment (and Tuesday afternoon for a meeting....ugh, really bad timing for all of these at once, one of my classes gets screwed), so I got all my sub plans written today and everything copied and prepped, so that should make tomorrow easier.

Tomorrow I am off to my parents' after school since their house is closer to my conference, so I won't be around.  Hope everyone has a good Thursday!
