Can someone school me on Pinterest?
I don't get it. I look at other people's walls and can "repin" things that I like onto mine but is that it?
Re: Can someone school me on Pinterest?
I know, it's a bummer that it's blocked at work.
I use it a lot to keep bookmarks and have a virtual style board for lots of topics. I will say that as more and more people are using it, the general pins are becoming stupid, IMO. There's no need to pin the cover of a book because you like it. Maybe if you have a "Must read" board but not because you like it. But that's just because I see Pinterest as an source of inspiration and a perfect-world to-do list, not a collage of stuff I have/like.
Also think twice about pinning stuff that doesn't have archivable link. I pin a lot of recipes and a lot of people will pin stuff from Tastespotting. Except, that photo you pinned will cease to be associated with the link for Tastespotting's front page in less than a day. It's better to go back to the source and pin from there--that link will be there for you to go back to until the page dies (or the owner screws with it).
