As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

WWSND? Complaint against a business

I'm going to try and make this as short as possible.

12/21/11- I placed an order online with a company in MN. Their website states it'll ship 12/22 and that it should only take ~4 days to get to me. (Not a Christmas present, but something that I could have used last week.) 

12/27/11- I contact them via email and ask about the shipping status. They tell me that due to a system upgrade my order still hasn't shipped, but will be expedited and shipped on 12/29/11. I ask for my s&h back ($5.95)  because this isn't what I expected when I paid for shipping, but the guy was snarky at me and said no.

12/31/11- I check the status on my order again only to find out that I was shipped on 12/30/11 and that their "expedited" shipping is 3 day shipping.

1/1/12- I write a complaint email to the company with the above time line asking for my shipping money back bc I'm pretty pissed that it took 7 business days to ship when they said they ship next business day.

1/3/12- No response from the company and I write a bad yelp review.

1/4/12- Still no response from the company. 

I'm not mad about the $6, I'm mad about the snarky response, and their bad communication.

  • I would probably email the company again, saying this is your third request, etc. I wouldn't waste a lot of time or effort on this over $6 as long as you actually do receive the item, especially since it wasn't a gift or anything.

  • i would email them-- it's not worth a lot of effort, *but* in their defense, shipping something 12/22 would be 4 business days, 12/29, since 12/26 is also a holiday. 

    if they don't respond to your email, i'd call, but if they don't respond to that, i'd drop it.

    yeah, they probably gave you a bad date, if they said 12/29, and also that they would ship 12/22-- not your fault, which is why you deserve a refund on shipping. was it a computer that calculated the shipping dates, or did you work with a rep that gave you that date? just curious, still their fault, regardless.

  • i would cancel my order.

    target.com did this to me recently... i didn't even end up getting my shipment.. it cancelled on me. they sent me 2 $25 gift cards. i'm still annoyed though..
