Starting Over
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

How to get The Nest to forget about XH???

I clicked over the The Knot today, and it kindly suggested that

"Since you and Lucas are already married, why don't you go check out The Nest?"

Ummm... No thanks, Knot. And thanks for bringing up my ex, because that's always fun.

So I clicked on "My Account" and I erased XH's name from the "Sig other" name fields and hit "Update." When the page reloaded, it said my changes were saved, but his name was back. This happens over and over.

What is the trick to getting The Nest to acknowledge that I have no significant other?

ETA - Apparently I can change his name; I just can't clear it. So now my significant other is "Fu?k you, Nest! I enjoy being single."

  • Haha, most of us just created new SNs.  Sorry Gilli :(

  • That's okay. "Fu?k you, Nest!" and I are going to live happily ever after. In fact, our wedding is scheduled for October 26, 2012* since I couldn't clear my wedding year either.

*The day I'm eligible to file my divorce application.

I wanted to look at wedding dresses on the Knot when we were doing a PIP so I made up a fake wedding date in January 2011 (because it made me).  Now I keep getting things about my anniversary, etc.  It's annoying but I'm too lazy to figure out how to delete it.

  • Ugh.  Idiocy, I tell you.

BTW: does anyone know how to change/remove the location on a nest profile? I cannot figure out how to do this for the life of me.

  • I don't think anyone has been able to change the location since the last big redesign.

The only way I've heard about doing it is by letting a mod know and the mod contacts the nest gods to change it.

  • This post reminded me that I wanted to forget my ex-husband too. I had the same problem, but finally got rid of him by putting in a different name in both the first and last name sections and putting in another email address. That finally got rid of him.
