Does anyone know the rules about being excused from serving jury duty? I know that nursing mothers can be excused, but I'm wondering about my situation. I run a very small in-home daycare, and I just found out that I'm scheduled for jury duty on 1/25. This is going to mess up so many people's work schedules. This is stressing me out majorly trying to figure out the logistics of this. Not only do I have to find daycare for my own kids, but also try to help out the families that I do daycare for. Does anyone know if there's anything I can do to get out of it?

Re: Jury Duty Question
Not sure about getting out of it, but it might be with any other job....it happens? Do you have anyone that can watch all the kids for you while your gone? I"m a back up on my cousins daycare and have ran the daycare the day she had to go for a D&C.
Otherwise another option is to call all your kiddos parents and explain the situation.
This MIGHT have some answers...might be something else online too.

Or number 16 here.....

But I just thought, it might be different in your county, this is Lancastor. But I just googled.
I would think it would be easiest to try to find a replacement for you. Are there any gals on here that may be options?
I would definitely try to call whoever it is that sets this up and at least ask the question. I had a co-worker who was scheduled for jury duty for, like, the first 2 weeks of December. She never once had to go.
Jury duty seems so wishy washy in what little I've seen of it in the last couple of years.
This is how it works. You can delay with good reason, but you can't get out of it.
Remember, it's your civic duty
You don't say that very often, do you?
