I need a new pair. The pair I have is uncomfortable and ugly.
Thanks!
((Oh and I don't want to spend a ton of $$ either. I save the big bucks for my heels))
Re: Running shoes recs?
I like Asics. Unfortunately, you'll do yourself a big disservice if cuteness is a deciding factor for you.
I agree with the suggestion to get fitted if you plan to run a lot or long distances. That said, you can usually get last years model of basically the same shoes at kohls for significantly cheaper than running store prices. I also need a stability shoe, so in Asics I look for ones with gray foam on the instep of the shoe (labeled duomax core usually).

Well, you're welcome for the advice, there. Hope you find something you like.
Alright, I will head to OKRunner.
Thanks, ladies!
I also wear Brooks Adrenaline shoes for walking, not running. I'm a serious overpronator, so I need a good stability shoe.
I second this. Okrunner is ok, but a person eyeballs your walking stride and fits you. Red coyote videotapes you running on a treadmill and shows you your stride in comparison to a 'normal' stride.
I have never heard of this place! I'll have to check that out. That sounds really cool.
I also think Best Feed Forward has some sort of sensor you stand on to determine what sort of shoe you should wear. I like less subjective solutions
ETA: I think I just tossed a $15 coupon to BFF and I'm 99% sure I'll get another in my race packet this weekend if anyone is interested.
I love them! (And the pair I got are pretty dang cute, IMO
). I don't remember what they told me about the issues with my stride, but these shoes plus my hip surgery eliminated a lot of the foot pain I was having during my walks. I guess my hip pain was causing me to compensate somehow with my gait, affecting my foot.
