I need some mover recs - who to use - who to stay away from - who is cheap, but good.

And go - TIA!

Yup - we are under contract on a house so if all goes well we will close on January 19 - fingers crossed!

  • Stay away from:

Just Right Movers - they were super nice but slow as crap and ultimately left me a bunch of stuff to do on my own anyway.

Family Movers - the damaged the crap out of my office furniture.

Thanks! I don't think I ever posted it here, just on FB maybe.

  • We are moving right around the same time!  We close 1/20 on our new house.  We hired Two Men and a Truck.  They were recommended (on here and a few other friends) and their hourly rate was lower than most that we called.  They also shrink wrap your furniture so you can leave your clothes in your dressers, etc.

  • I've always used 2 Men and a Truck and had great service at a very reasonable price.  I think it's $130 for them to show up with their truck and then $118 per hour.  Every pair I've had move really fast and do good work (never had an troubles).  My brother has also used them.

Good luck!  Where is the new abode?

  • We used Amazing Moves for our local move almost a year ago. They did a great job, I would recommend them.

  • Check out MovingHelp.com. We always get a Uhaul truck and then hire a team off of there. We used the same guys the last 2 times, and we really liked them. It was a team of 2 young guys - maybe 22 or 23? They busted their butts, and it was way cheaper then other options for us. The company is Anytime Movers, but I couldn't find them listed on the site. The kid who runs the show is Dominic (I think, and his cohort was Andre) and the cell number I have for him is (720) 628-4695 & email is king.blac at yahoo dot com. They are a little rough around the edges but we've never had guys work so hard for us and be so careful with our stuff.
