My 30th this past June we held a big family/friend BBQ at our house. I got all the fav foods I wanted, steak and veg skewers, shrimp, scallops, it was AWESOME! Then after 4pm we all went up to Tulalip Casino and gambled away. Some of my friends got rooms and stayed. I ended up nodding off at a slot machine and my hubz had to wake me up and take me home! Sad thing, it was only 8pm. Sign I was officially 30, lol!

I voted have the party with your friends, only because you and your DH seem to travel a lot together already.

It's YOUR 30th - do what you want. What people want differs.

My 30th includes some family and friends, two magnum bottles of wine, a cabin with no running water and just an outhouse and floating a river in a pontoon boat.

I'd rather go on a trip with some of my girlfriends. I've always wanted to go to Sedona, AZ and just totally pamper myself at some of those great spas with some girlfriends.

I'm old, so I already had mine. My birthday is always near Thanksgiving, so it is hard to find people, and even so only a handful of folks showed up. On one level I didn't really care that much, on another I was sort of down that I didn't feel like I had a bunch of friends I could invite and/or who would show up.

I'm a SS - I'd pick Maui with H, but I'd want to bring our BFFs that married each other along with us. Could be Maui or some other fun destination.

I just got back from Maui, but I'd totally go back again for my 30th in ~2.5yrs. XD

That said, I'd probably pick Europe if given a list of choices!

I picked a party with 25 of my closest friends...but that's mainly because my closest friends are all scattered around the country. Getting them all together in one location would be awesome!!

I turned 30 about 3 weeks after moving here, so I literally knew no one in the state (I wasn't working...and it's hard to meet people when you never have a reason to leave the apartment!). DH and I just went out to dinner at a place in Ballard and got cupcakes at Cupcake Royale. Super exciting birthday. Stick out tongue
