Intro and my first project!

I've posted a few times on here, but never did an into.  I developed a serious etsy addiction and decided I needed to learn how to sew.  I've taken a beginner class at Joann's and my husband bought me a sewing machine in December for my birthday.  I saw a post on here by Justinlove (I think it was her) about a gingerbread man dress, and I fell in love with it.  I found a free pattern online and added the ruffle.  I read that it takes most people just 1-2 hours to make a peasant dress, but it took me around 12 and it's far from perfect.  I'm really proud of myself though, my daughter looked adorable in her homemade christmas dress and I got tons of compliments on it too.

Here is a pic of her wearing the dress at one of the christmas parties we went to.
