Baby gift ideas please!

A friend of mine back in CA had her baby this morning. She wasn't due until the end of the month so I thought I had more time to get something to her after the holidays. Just as well, another friend in another state is due with her first at the end of next month so I need to get on this anyhow.

I plan to get some things off their registries, but am looking for ideas for something else....cute/trendy/fashionable, but useful! I know there are a lot of Pinterest and Etsy fans here, so figured y'all would have some great ideas.

One baby is a girl; gender isn't yet known for the other but mom is a girly-girl.

  • For a girl, I have gotten (and also received) little bloomers with the name embroidered on the butt.  Good for dress outfits that don't have bloomers already, or in lieu of tights.  Usually you can get a size with some stretch that will last a long time. - from infant to toddler (I think maybe size 2? you may ask the seller).

I recevied some cute embroidered burp clothes (with DS's name, initals, etc.) and really liked them to use out and about (as opposed to the boring white cloth diaper ones).  Don't know where they got them, though, so I can't help with that - sorry!

These are both great ideas.  I had almost nothing monogrammed for DS and I still have a little bit of guilt about it, ha.  I recently was given some really personalized burp cloths as a gift and love them.  There are tons of etsy sellers that do this.  We went through so many burp cloths with DS that I don't really think you can have too many!

  • I love to give the fancy burp cloths from etsy..  they also have little sets with a matching onesie or blanket that are really cute.  Most etsy sellers will gift wrap and send it directly to the person.  Makes it super easy.
