Anyone been on RC's Liberty of the Seas to the W. Caribbean?
DH and I just booked this cruise leaving in early December, visiting Labadee and Falmouth Jamaica.
I know the Liberty ship is one of their newest ships (so excited!) This is our first time on Royal Caribbean (have been on Carnival) and am hoping this will be a good time.
I have never been to Labadee or Falmouth- are there any good excursions to try out? Ample things to do?
Any tips or suggestions would be helpful!
eta: Has anyone done the Meet & Mingle? Is it fun? What are the general ages? Also, are the specialty restaurants worth it (Portofino Italian or Chops Grille)?
Re: Anyone been on RC's Liberty of the Seas to the W. Caribbean?
We were on Liberty of the Seas in November 2007 - I think it was their newest (and largest) ship at the time. It was a great ship with lots to do; I think some of my family members were a little apprehensive about being on such a large ship, but to be honest, I didn't notice a significant difference in terms of the number of people, crowds, etc. I've been on Carnival once and RC twice, and greatly preferred RC (we'll be going on a third cruise with them this summer).
We went to Labadee and a few other places, but not Falmouth. Labadee is an area (island?) owned by the cruise line, so you are somewhat limited in what you can see/do. I remember they have zip lining, which looked cool but was really overpriced (I think something like $90/pp). The day we were there, we mostly just lounged on the beach and walked around (there was a short hike to a blowhole). There is a little market there, but the meals are brought in and served by RC staff.
As for the restaurants, we ate at the Chops Grille. It was decent, but to be honest, I think we all liked the food in the dining room better. I would save your money.
Have a great trip!

Thanks for your feedback. The more I am reading up on it, the more I am wondering if we should be picking another itinerary. I know that the Liberty underwent a huge renovation in 2011, so that is a plus, but the (2) ports seem lackluster.
I did read about the zip lining, but it is so $$ and not much to do at Labadee. I know Falmouth is a newer port, and I think we are going to try to book an excursion to go to Dunn's River.
Hmm, now I am thinking about rescheduling and doing a different itinerary...
