I have 2 problems with Grimm
I love the show, but two things just keep bugging the crap out of me:
- He's a Grimm, right? So all the supernatural things are terrified of him. Except that he has absolutely no power beyond being able to see their weird faces. He's not fast, or really smart, or really strong. He's just a normal guy with a weird family tree. Are his ancestors really enough to warrant the kind of fear these people have for him?
- He may as well not have a partner. It seems like he and Monroe solve the cases, and the actual partner is just there for the paperwork part of the job.
Obviously I am thinking about this too much.
Re: I have 2 problems with Grimm
well they sort of killed his dying aunt to keep her from teaching him everything he needs to know. so he's starting from square one...now yeah, all he can do is see them....but if he learns to fight them, then seeing them is a MAJOR advantage.
and his partner found the girls in the episode with the pied piper...he just got all hopped up on the gas like they did.

The think what bugs me is that his Aunt wanted him to ditch the girlfriend, but if he doesn't have kids, then won't the Grimm family die out and that would be a bad thing right? Why is it when people are the last of their kind the dying other last of their kind wants them to be a loner. It just doesn't work! :P
OH, and that it kind of drags... I know most dramas are an hour long, but this show feels like it could be a half hour drama if they cut a bunch of fluff.
That wasn't the Pied Piper, it was some other story called Bluebeard (I had to look it up because it wasn't familiar to me). Pied Piper was the teenager and the rats.
I don't know what it is - if it's the writing, the acting, or what - but there is just something not clicking for me.
And I also agree that the show drags. I really don't know that I'm going to watch it past this season - if I even watch it that long. I JUST watched, last night, the episode from a few weeks ago. I'm just not inspired to watch it.

Yes, this!
I get what the first poster said about him not getting to learn anything from his aunt...but he really doesn't seem like he wants to know anything. He meets all these really terrible supes that a Grimm would kill, and he is all like, "no no, I'm not a real Grimm, just a cop! Don't worry!" That's fine if he wants to be a good cop, but if he were studying up, he wouldn't end up going to that trailer to look things up while he has a bloody nose, kwim?

And can we see more supernatural creatures? Right now, I'm assuming that the supes are 75 percent Bludbad, 25 percent other weird stuff.
Buffy would have this sh*t figured out by now.
