Can't sleep... Randoms poll

Third night in a row.  So irritated. Oh well, how about a poll?

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)?

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?

Whats one shameful guilty pleasure?

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all?

If you could go back to school now, what would you study?

...hello out there!

  • When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

My whole childhood, through freshman year of college, I wanted to be a doctor.

If you could have any job in the wold, what would it be (if money was no factor)?

Probably an architect.  I love design and I'm pretty decent at math.  Probably missed my calling there.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?

All over Italy.. I'd even break down and eat gluten.  :)

    Whats one shameful guilty pleasure?

Every now and then, I like to buy a jar of frosting and just eat it by the spoonful.  Gross, I know.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all?

biology.  I knew half way through I didn't like it, but I finished with it anyway.  I did work in medical research for two years after graduating, but I obviously don't use it now as a realtor.

If you could go back to school now, what would you study?

Probably art.  I'm so drawn to it, but only know what I learned in high school. :(

  • When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

    A teacher

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)?

I would continue to do what I'm doing now. But I would get paid for it! Haha

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?

This is being offered to me by H about once a week. I don't know because I don't want to leave DS (and we were planning a trip for this month but then sold our house instead). I know, I'm a weenie.

    Whats one shameful guilty pleasure?

I watch Secret Life of the American Teenager and Teen Mom. But I'm proud to say that I've never seen an episode of Jersey Shore.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all?

Anthropology, with a concentration on the Middle East and Islam. I have most certainly not used it!

If you could go back to school now, what would you study?

    Social work

  • From 8-13 I wanted to be an archaeologist. From 15 on I wanted to be a biologist

    No idea

A year abroad, with a month in each of 12 locations. Mostly Europe and North America

    No idea

    Biology, absolutely

    Forensic anthropology

Disclaimer: I am not an MD. Please don't PM me with pregnancy-related questions. Ask your doctor.
  • When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A lawyer. And then a psychologist.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)?
    Travel writer.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?
    Australia, New Zealand, or Thailand.

    What's one shameful guilty pleasure?
I own all three seasons of Flavor of Love on dvd. And watch them.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all?
Communications. And not for what I thought I would use it for (PR), but it comes in handy.

If you could go back to school now, what would you study?
No idea. I'd probably be boring and go with the same thing, or double major in Communications/English.

  • Ugh, not being able to sleep is the worst.  And three days in a row?  You poor thing!  Hope tonight is better for you.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?  When I was in 4th grade or so we were told to draw a picture of what we wanted to be.  I drew a bank teller, hahaha!  I guess I knew I wanted to be involved with money/business and that was my 10-year-old direct interpretation of that.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)?  I'd work with homeless populations on programs to help them get back on their feet and be able to make a good life for themselves.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go?  Around the world!  That is my ultimate dream.  If I had to pick one place, I guess right now it would be Africa (probably Kenya, Tanzania, and South Africa) since it's such an expensive area to travel around.

Whats one shameful guilty pleasure?  Just one? Wink  I pretty much eat what I want, when I want it.  I don't eat McDonald's all day, but if I'm craving chocolate or chips or ice cream, I just can't ignore it.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all?  English, and yes I've used it even though my career has primarily been in finance/business development.  It can handy in writing IPO prospectuses!  However, it also makes me incredibly anal and annoyed about typos and grammatical errors in regular business correspondence.

If you could go back to school now, what would you study? Psychology.  I had an awful Psych I class but kind of wish I'd stuck with it.  I think I could have been a really good therapist.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

That was me, too! I went to college fully expecting to be a pysch major. One semester of psychology, and I was out. My college counted it as a natural science, so the first semester was basically a biology class. It was the second semester before you got to what I think of as the interesting stuff, and the professor I had was just awful. I couldn't take having her again.

And apparently a lot of people agreed with me - there were 2 sections of Psych 101, both full with 40 students each.  For 102, there was 1 section with like 30 people in it.

  • When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Monkey trainer... I don't know why.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)? Currently, I'd love to be just a mom... but if I had to chose another type of job, I'd love to work with animals in some sort of capacity... or be a baker.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go? Galapagos Islands

Whats one shameful guilty pleasure? Not sure this is shameful- but it will always be chocolate.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all? Undergrad- psychology... and yes, I'm a social worker (grad degree)

If you could go back to school now, what would you study? Culinary arts? Business? If I had endless time & money I'd like to study a wide array of things.

  • When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was in elementary school I wanted to be a teacher.  In middle and high school I started thinking architect.  Once I started applying for college and saw what the architecture curriculum was actually like, I ditched that idea.

If you could have any job in the world, what would it be (if money was no factor)? I'd probably want to work in a bakery.

If you could travel anywhere, all expenses paid, where would you go? Hawaii?  I am so predictable on that one.  If someone else is paying and choosing, I'd be happy to go anywhere.

Whats one shameful guilty pleasure? I don't know if I have anything shameful.  I eat too much chocolate and watch junky TV like MTV's the Challenge.

What did you major in, and have you used your degree at all? Math, and yes, I use it daily.

If you could go back to school now, what would you study? Maybe geology if I were looking for a career change, which I'm not.
