Does anyone know about this hospital? It's on Van *** between the Veteran's and Dale Mabry. I heard it's very nice since it is new, and I pretty much live equidistant to that St. Joe's and the other one. I'm pretty sure my doctors deliver at both so I was considering looking into it.
TIA
Re: St. Joe's Women's North
Yeah I know the location is good.. I go to Kohl's a lot over there, lol.
I'm just wondering if anyone has actually used the services of the hospital, either for baby or other. I don't even really know what questions to ask, I just want someone who has actually used the hospital to tell me their opinion of it.
I delivered Mason there in July! It was an awesome hospital and the nurses were great. The main nurse who helped my doctor deliver the baby was named Tammy and she also taught my prepared childbirth class. She was the best!!!!!
Let me know what other questions or information you need. We can chat here or you can PM me but just let me know if you PM me as I never check it.
Thanks for the responses girls. I definitely am going to check it out. I have my 20 week appt. on the 16th so I'm going to make sure my doctors deliver there and if so, I will be setting up something to go check it out.
I don't even know what type of questions to ask.... lol.
You are correct in that they dont have a NICU. Luckily we did not have any problems but they have to deliver a certain amount of babies to get a NICU at the hospital. Your best bet would be to call the hospital and ask about the fact that they do not have a NICU and what would happen if you needed it. I know they can handle emergency's to a certain point but not sure what that point is. Like Sara said you would have to be transferred. If you are taking a prepared childbirth class at this hospital they will give you a tour of the L&D area.
