So, S and I did end up discussing things last night. I didn't go into gory details, not because I have any real objection to doing so, but just because I didn't find it entirely necessary. It's in the past, and it's done. I did, however, go into enough detail to let him know what some of my triggers might be, and explain that I may be skittish for no apparent reason.
God bless that man. He told me that I was free to talk about it whenever/if ever I needed, and to let him know if something didn't feel right, even if it was something we'd done before; we'd take as long as I needed, and he had no expectations. He also told me that he was concerned about me, and everything else was secondary. He knew going into this that there might be a few road bumps as I finished my recovery, but that whatever came up, we'd work through it together and that I was worth figuring things out with/for.
....God bless that man....

What a great man! And I'm sure that is a huge relief not having to worry about how he might react.
