silhoutte owners...newbie question

Ok, so I bought a cameo and have yet to do my first project because I'm totally intimidated. I wish I could find some place local to take a class. Anyway, I found THESE Valentines that my dtr and I would like to make for her class but I have no idea how to do them. I can buy the shape from silhouette but how do I get any writing on the butterfly? Any tips, words of wisdom or online sources to learn my new toy so I'm not so intimidated?? tia.

P.S. I know I can download them from the blog but if I want to personalize them with dd's name how would I do it?

  • This tutorial on the "print and cut" feature might help you.

If you already have a butterfly shape, you can drag text so that it conforms to the shape. I'm not really sure how to explain it. Then you can print and cut.

The blog that it links to has a ton of great Silhouette projects. Don't be too intimidated, dive right in!
