I was home today with the boys because my mom is sick and she usually has the boys on Wednesdays. So I packed us all up and we headed to the Dover Children's Museum... but thats not what I am excited about...
What was exciting was that after we left, we headed to Panera... and I took the boys out to eat in a restaurant all by myself!
Ok... you may be thinking... no big deal... but I have never taken them by myself, I have taken them with you girls, with DH, with other family or friends as backup... but I have never soloed at a restaurant...
It went so well... despite being seriously over tired, they sat in their high chairs and ate their meals very nicely, they didn't have any major spills, they didn't freak out when I left the table to throw away our trash... it only went downhill when I asked Jack to get Keaghan's mittens and he flopped himself over the chair and landed in a heap... and when I was trying to get Keaghan out of the high chair not realizing he had buckled himself in...
We even made it home without a dreaded car nap and they went right to sleep as soon as we got in the door and got them settled in bed. And they slept for 3+ hours!
I am so proud of myself and of them for today!
Re: I did it!!
Yay!
I'm nervous about how I'll handle it when I have two to deal with.
And I'm laughing over the high chair/buckle problem. I did the same thing not long ago with Helen in a shopping cart!
Yay! That is awesome. I have yet to do the whole restaurant by myself. The mall food court I can do, because I keep them strapped in their strollers and hand them bite by bite. Ha ha.
I can't wait for the day I say I did that too! Great job!!!
The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware; joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware. -Henry Miller
