Thanks so much for asking! It really means a lot to both B and I how supportive you ladies have been.
They did some minor surgery yesterday to remove the dead tissue at the infection site. We're keeping our fingers crossed that with the majority of the infection out of his body, the antibiotics and good juju will do their job to restore his health. So now we just wait until later today. This whole situation has just been awful, and I'm trying to stay positive, but it's really difficult.
Update as of 1:45: The vet called, and Casey's fever has finally dropped, and he seems much more aware and responsive today than yesterday. His kidney numbers have gotten back near the normal range as well. The vet is planning to try to give him some real food this afternoon, as well as get him up and moving. B and I are going to visit him this evening. Once again, thanks for everyone's love and support. I'm keeping my fx that the worst is now behind us.
