update on mil assault

Hello ladies, so my husband and I met up our the pastor. To make a long story short he told us to forgive our mil and leave her out our lives. He pointed out that in the bible it says to forgive, but that does not me we have to have a relationship or maintain a relationship beyond that point. He told us she not only put our marriage in trouble but also the welfare of our twins. We spoke to the D.A. we were please with what he told us. I feel so happy ladies, the doctors say both of my babies are doing great :)

Re: update on mil assault

  • You needed your pastor to tell you to kick her out of your lives?

    Really?

  • Nope just to move on and forgive her. Which I was finding hard to do.
  • What did the DA say?
My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.
  • are you still going to press charges.

I am glad you got some peace about not having a relationship with her.

  • I agree with forgiving.  It takes the anger and hatred out of your heart, where you don't need it.  Anger can eat you up and poison you inside.  You're forgiving her for yourself, not her.

I agree to never see her again.  She's dangerous.

He is going to have a warrant sent out for her, he will recommend she spend 4 weekends in jail and attend anger management classes.

Yes I am moving forward with pressing charges.

I agree a 100% I was so anger, I considered even slapping her after I had my babies, but I decided against it because I know I was full of rage, anger, and hurt. It would not solve anything and take time away from my children who need me more.

  • I am glad you are still pressing charges.

  • I'm glad you are pressing charges.  Your MIL needs to realize that her actions were very serious and she could have killed your unborn children.

  • You know this behavior isn't normal -- they did not think some type of evaluation of her was in order?

I have not visit her since the incident, but we have talked on the phone since then.

We want to request that, but we will see.

    I agree 100%

  • I'm really glad that you are still pressing charges. I think she really does need an evaluation, though. She could have posed a huge danger to you and your babies.
  • I think what you are doing is sensible.  Pressing charges - letting the law decide her fate, as well as forgiving her BUT (or while) keeping her out of your life.  Forgiveness isn't for her, it's for you.  Your babies are better off if you do not carry anger inside of you, it is toxic.

    Amen to this!

  • Are your DH's siblings still trying to talk you out of pressing charges? That was one of the things that really got to me. How can they possibly believe that she should not be punished for what she did to you!

I agree, my hubby and I feel that if we let her get away with this, what will be next. We will not wait to see what will happen. I feel confident in my decision.

Yes, my dh told them to go to hell. He also told them if they continue to call me or him harassment charges will be bought against them. The phone calls stop :).
