Any recommendations for swim diapers? We're going away at the end of February and I want to get S a cloth swim diaper-- Can I get away with just one (we'll be in GA for 4-5 days)? The Bummis ones I saw were sized and I think S would outgrow the small size by this summer so I wouldn't get good use out of it (DH is opposed to buying pre-owned diapers too).
Do places like the Y allow cloth swim diapers if I were to do a waterbabies class?
Re: swim diapers
We have the Iplay brand cloth swim diapers. I like them, they always keep the poop in, but they pull on and off. It can be hard to deal with a poop so I might try a velcro one next summer. I would have two, just in case there is a poop, and then you can just change her.
Our Y didn't care what kind of swim diaper you used, as long as you used one.
ditto the bummis and ditto the velcro. We use the disposable swim diapers when we travel (we use disposables for all diapering when we travel), and the velcro is so much easier than pulling off a disposable!
In fact, the bummis one was so cute, I didn't put a swimsuit on Ellie over it, just added a shirt to protect from sun.
When Owen took swim lessons at 6 months, I just used a BG cover sans insert. That's before I knew that chlorine was rough on the covers. Just the same, I know other people on here have done that and dedicated that particular cover to swimming only. The beauty of that method is that they are one-size, so you won't have to worry about her outgrowing them this summer.
