Fiestaware

Anyone have it, in particular the square plates?  I have never seen the square plates in person and just wanted your thoughts. They look a bit round and like they stick up in the air.  I am doing the Peacock and Cobalt to match our dining room.  I am not sure if I want to bring any other colors into the mix for extra pieces.

Re: Fiestaware

  • i have some ooooold fiestaware and i love it.  i know it is still made in wv and i don't think the manufacturing has changed.  it is super durable and great.  plus, it makes me feel good to buy something that is made in the us and really helps out a local economy like fiestaware.

  • I like that it's made in the US and lead free too.  I have heard great things about its durability, etc.  My mom always wanted a set for as long as  I can remember and we got her service for 8 for Christmas.  She was so excited to get dishes!  I did not register for causal dishes because we were renting at the time and I had no idea what colors we would need.  I never would've thought we'd end up with a blue dining room and green kitchen.

  • i just love square dishes.

    squares and rectangles man!

  • I have service for 8 in scarlet and I love it. I got them as a shower gift 4 years ago and they get used every single day and still look brand new. They are on the heavy side, but its worth it for the durability. I can see these dishes as being ones we use for a long long time.

Though I dont have the square dishes, I would imagine they are the same great quality as the round ones.

  • I was actually in Macy's last night and saw the Fiestaware display so I went over to check it out for you.  They didn't have any square plates out.  I tried!

  • I just want to say, that I wish I would have registered for Fiestaware when we got married...we were torn between that and a plain white set from Crate & Barrel (we went with the white).

Someday I'll replace our white set (which is chipping like crazy!) with it!
