Do you bring lunch to work or buy?
If you bring, what do you usually make for lunch?
Re: Poll: Bring or Buy Lunch
I bring almost every day. I agree its tempting to go get something just to get out, but it can be such a huge money suck.
I usually stick with deli meat sandwiches. Getting the nice stuff from the deli at the grocery store makes it feel nicer.
When I was teaching I packed my lunch 99% of the time. Except on some chicken nugget day, lol.
DH on the other hand eats out every.single.day and it drives me crazy! It's SO expensive!
Our crazy, wonderful life
I try to bring my lunch as long as we have stuff in the house to bring.
I typically bring left overs from dinners through out the week. If I don't bring my lunch I get hospital food from the cafeteria.
This! I usually treat myself to lunch once a week too:)

I usually bring my lunch most of the time. Occasionally if we dont have anything to bring, I will buy.
The things I usually bring are either leftovers from previous dinners or a lean cuise/healthy choice steamer, fruit and a granola thin.

I usually bring lunch with me. I think it saves money and time that it takes me to go across the medical center to find something to eat.
I take anything from soup, salad, leftovers and sandwiches. I always have a greek yogurt and usually a fruit or veggie.
I always bring lunch. Some Fridays my bosses will buy Panera for us all, but that can't be counted on. I believe you're in MA, I work on Rte 1, the idea of leaving the office, finding food, and circling back isn't always an option in the time I get to take.
I'll bring leftovers, a sandwich, tabuleh(sp?), soup, or salad
I'll have a yogurt and some sort of carb to help snack on and make it through the day.
I go home for lunch pretty much every day. I'll eat out on Fridays sometimes to celebrate the end of the week.
I'm not going home today though and packed some leftovers. I usually end up w/ a turkey sandwich (I do the deli too BigD) with carrot sticks or wheat thins and laughing cow cheese. Today is leftover cajun pasta. Yummeh.
I buy or go home for lunch.
WE don't have a microwave near my office. I can use the one in the janitor's closet if I catch them or I can drive or walk to another building and use the one in there. By the time I've gotten in my car and driven ( cause I'm not wasting my lunch hour walking) its seems pointless.
We have a cafeteria that I can eat in, but that gets old and its really not the best food.
Plus no one here brings lunch and if they do, they eat in their cars. Belch
So I go home or go out and buy.
All of this, mostly the part about if I don't leave, I don't take a break from my desk/phone.
There are some days I bring lunch, or skip the eating part of lunch and just go to my car, and put the seat back with my Kindle.

Pretty much this. We technically have 30 minutes, but by the time I bring the kids to the cafeteria, it's closer to 25. We've got a Subway that's not too far from work, but I couldn't get to my car, get to subway, get my food, and get back into work in 25 minutes or less, nevermind have time to eat it. Also, we don't have a parking lot at work, so moving my car would mean I would lose my spot and probably end up parking further away.
I have a few go-to options that I alternate between:
-yogurt, a piece of fruit, and a granola bar
-hummus, taboule, a pita, and a piece of fruit
-a can of soup
