Shooting at a MS in my area =(
Re: Shooting at a MS in my area =(
Yeah, it just sounds like it. I heard the story from someone that was present and sad to say reality is another and things should have been handled in a diffrent way. The kid never took the gun out of his pocket(pants) and kept telling the cops crying that he wanted to die. When the kid refused to give the gun to the cops one of the cops shot him 3 times. Two times in the chest and one to the head. As is that's not enough, the kid had a BB gun. I'm very dissapointed with the whole system, cops or school faculty never saw the gun outside his pocket. I'm very glad that the school called it in and they dealt with the situation properly, but the police department or that one cop really messed up. Don't they take hours to try to convince criminals to hand over a gun? I don't even know what to say. I mean, if the kid had the gun in his hand (not even pointing at someone) I would think differently, but three deadly shots to someone that didn't have a gun in his hand is crazy. The kid was crying for help. I understand that this situations have happened and the end result is never good and inocent people get hurt, but I really don't understand why in this case 3 shots were necessary. I might be wrong, I don't know, I just think the kid was crying for help and with no gun on hand there was other ways to deal with it.
I'm not saying that person is lying but cops are trained to only shoot when they are threatened by the weapon and repeadetly asking to put the weapon down.
and I will say this that bb gun he had looked exactly like a glock...you can't tell the difference...I was listening to talk radio last night where a cop here called and said he owned the same bb gun and they were saying the manufacturers should make fake weapons and bb guns look fake with bright yellow or orange so that people know it.
But they also said they knew it was suicide by copy which happens a ton!
I know everyone said he was a sweet boy and I'm not saying he wasn't but I have an issue with a 15 year old being in 8th grade. Even if they waited a year or he was held back that's awfuly old to be mingling with 13 year olds.
There's always three sides to the story and maybe he really did have it in his pocket but if it looked like he was going to grab it out they have the right to protect themselves and others. The whole bringing weapons to school just terrifies me honestly because it could be a situation of bullying and they can't take it anymore, or depression which seems to maybe be this case?, or just kids who think they don't care and even if nobody else gets hurt in most cases someone does and unfortunately his life was taken.
It's a terrible shame that it happened
You're right. It was just a sad day and I never really thought something like that would happen here. There are still different stories out there but, I'm just not listening to any of them anymore. I feel its better that way, at leat for my peace. I guess I'm weak like that. I guess the shot to the head really affeced me and was too much in my opinion. He got what he deserved and probably what he was looking for. and yes, the gun he had did look very real and it could of cause harm to others real or not.
