I'm scared of going back on TK's forums to ask this. ^^;
I'm MOH for a friend who's wedding is 1st April... I sent out invitations for her shower for 15th Jan (i.e., next weekend) because that's the date she wanted that doesn't end with me having to find a babysitter or something.
I've... never planned a shower of any kind before, and the only one I've ever attended was my own. :X
Right now, I have:
* A list of foods/drinks (hors d'ouevres, mini-cupcakes, champagne+OJ for mimosas, ginger ale+white grape juice for KTFU/designated-driver-safe "mimosas", possibly other beverages?)
* One idea for a Thing To Do (bride hates shower games, so nearly all of 'em are out; I'm going to have a basket and note-cards and pens and set up a "wishing well" for the guests to make wishes for the bride, and then maybe have her read them out) ... I'm hoping it'll mostly be conversation and such!
* A list of stuff to bring/arrange for (folding chairs, laptop for music, notepad+pen for recording gifts for thank-yous)
.... What else do I need/would be good to have?? I have no idea what I'm doing here. O_x
ETA: Out of 23 invitations (incl the bride and myself), we have 10 RSVPs, 7 of which are 'yes'. So the eventual guest-list will be somewhere between 10-20.
Re: Planning a Bridal Shower... HALP
i think you're pretty well covered, esp since she doesn't want any games. other beverages people usually forget about at parties is WATER. sometimes, that's all i want! no juice, soda, or anything...just regular water.. and ice.
don't forget plates, napkins, cups, and maybe silverware?
large bags for recycling wrapping paper
garbage bags for the snacks/plates involved
some towels ready in case people spill

Oooh, good ideas, definitely! Thank you so much.
I'll bring a spare Brita we have laying around for water; there's a sink and a fridge, but there's no telling how the tap water tastes.
