Nursery help :)

Ok ladies, we are finally going to work on making room for BWT2.0 in Norah's room. In order to do that we are moving some furniture around and taking the doors off the laundry closet. The doors take up space that we need Sad It makes me kind of sad. I like that I can close the doors to keep things quieter in the room while the washing machine is running, but we aren't sure how else we are going to get a bed for Norah in her room.

Here is where I need your help. We are going to put up curtains to hide the laundry What curtains would you suggest? Go with another set to match the pictured below or other suggestions. I am handy enough with a sewing machine I could make curtains too, but realistically I am trying to keep it more simple. (I would like to only buy one set of curtains if possible, if not, I may be able to re-purpose the red curtains in our living room.) Here are some more details :

Currently the room is painted yellow with bright white trim around the doors, windows and closet. The drapes on her window are a Red and Gold stripe (I am shocked to find the picture, I bought them at world market several years ago!)

The yellow on the walls is a warm buttery color that almost matches the bedding below, just a little bit brighter. We have the bedding below, the crib is an off white color. The wood furniture in the room is a bit of a mix, but mostly, a little bit redder wood (cherry but not super dark) than the one in the crib below.

Re: Nursery help :)

  • I'm not sure on color - maybe try to come close to the buttery yellow walls, or a white that is door like? is that crazy? regardless I think I would spring for some heavy ones, like thermal blackouts (jcpenny has some good deals) to help with the noise. Won't be like doors but I bet it would muffle more than thin cotton.
  • Ooh, thanks, I will go check out JCP to see if I see anything that strikes my fancy.

  • I just got some thermals from JCP for our bedroom for around $50/panel (you'll probably need longer ones though) and the quality is really shockingly good.

I was initially thinking you shoul dhave matching curtains, but now I think I agree with Emily on the white or yellow ones. A matching set might be too much.
