I'm looking into a weekend trip to Memphis in February. Any recommendations on things to do, see, eat, sleep?
Thanks.

Re: Memphis recs
I like the Marriott downtown and stay there often, each time I go. Not too far away from all the action but yet not on top of it. I used to like the Peabody and still do as far as a visit. But the rooms were a little old and outdated. Not sure if that's changed, it's been a while since I've been there.
As far as things to do I'm a big advocate of a St. Jude Children's Research Hospital tour. It's an amazing place to see. No, it's not sad, it's inspiring. They have a museum there too so you can learn about the history and a nice gift shop. There's Graceland, Beale St. of course too.
Are you bringing your child? They have an awesome children's museum. To eat we liked rendevouz BBQ and Gus's fried chicken (that place was amazingly good)! If t is baseball season they have a minor league team. It might be fun to see a game. We stayed at the Peabody and the room was huge. The closet was even big enough for us to put our baby's cot in to sleep so it wasn't lights out At 7pm. And of course you have to have a drink at the bar and watch the ducks. We also visited the penthouse where they live and got some amazing views of Memphis.
I loved the Peabody. The rooms are a little antiquated, but it has a beautiful lobby and I really enjoyed the ducks. You can see them without staying there. They march in at 11 swim all day and march out at 5. I really wanted to have tea there and eat at the nice restaurant, but neither were available the time we were there.
I enjoyed Graceland. Beale street was fun. We ate at BB Kings- the music was great, the food not so much. We wanted to eat at Rendevous but they were not open.
