Jute rugs

Do you like, or think they're hideous? A lot of rooms I've been seeing have had them and I'm really liking them.  I'm not sure (since I've never had one) how it would hold up, so if you've had one, fill me in.  I love the look of neutrals with pops of color through pillows, curtains, and throw blankets.  Seems it would be easy to change up.

  • LOVE THEM!  We have (had) one in our living room.  Dasher barfed on it and ruined it though, which is the only "con" about a Jute rug - impossible to clean.  It was very sturdy. I was worried it won't be very soft and would hurt our feet (like, be pokey) but it wasn't. I am sad ours got ruined.  We plan to replace it with another Jute rug.

Hmmm..so like if B spills something on it it's a goner? How did it vacuum? And where did you buy yours/are you going to buy yours from?

Well, a spill and a massive amount of barf are two different things.  We spilled tea and coke on ours all the time and it was fine.  The barf, on the other hand...yuck.

And I got ours from IKEA.  I really like the ones from Ballard designs that have the colored border.
