NSOR: Is this a funny joke?

to say to someone you don't know?

"My mom says I'm special... I hope not special ed, like ride the short bus to school"

Or is it offensive?

Re: NSOR: Is this a funny joke?

  • My friends and I thought that was a funny joke when we are 12.  Beyond that...NO not funny.
"You cannot protect yourself from sadness without protecting yourself from happiness."
  • That sounds like immature and uneducated "humor".  So, no, it's not funny.
  • Not funny!

But on a backward revision, how would you feel if someone with a disability say this to you:

"Yes, I am special, no need to bow to me."

  • I vote not funny. But I tend to fluff up my feathers and want to punch the "lololol special ed kids" people. Maybe because my SIL is autistic. Maybe because I just want to punch douchebags.

Douchebag is right.  My son is autistic and in special ed AND he rides the short bus.  DB didn't know that when he told his "joke".  Whatadick.  He then proceeded to make fun of my name.  Really?  Is that how you try to woo a girl?  No wonder he's single
