Help me spend Christmas money!

Ok, I got a good chunk of money from various grandparents for Christmas.  We're putting most of it in savings, but Scott wants me to splurge on something for myself.  I've narrowed it down to 2 things I've wanted for a while:

a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my camera  - should improve picture taking, especially my food pics since it's winter and gets dark early and my pictures have sucked.  I've been eyeballing it since I took my camera class and saw how big of a difference it can make.

or

a pasta roller attachement set.  Because I really want to make homemade pasta.

Only about $50 in price, which isn't much of a factor.  I've given myself aroudn $150 to spend anyway.

Help me decide!!

Re: Help me spend Christmas money!

  • I love my pasta rollers but I use my 50mm lens ALL THE TIME.  It will make a world of difference in your pictures, so my vote is for that.

Lens- I have both- I use the lens much more and feel that the pasta roller can come later...

  • Will the pasta attachment help you with Whipped? If so than go that route. If not and its something you can pick up at a later time than I say go with the lens.
