For those that want 2+ kids if you could guarantee having twins would you choose that option?

My Ovulation Chart
We're budgeting $1000/mo for daycare whenever we have a kid. Infant twins in daycare would be $24,000. TWENTY-FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS A YEAR.
Clearly you are not as attached to your discretionary spending lol.
You're forgetting that you get a discount for more than one kid at the same daycare. *pocketing the $5 per week discount from James' bill starting April* YEAH!
eh, if you're going to have 2 eventually anyway, you'll end up spending the same 24k over time. And I'd prefer to have my kids closer than 5 years apart so there'll be daycare overlap either way. on the other hand, even with overlapping non-twins, at least you do get a year at the beginning and end of the daycare years with only one in it at a time.

lol. you can really live it up now!

My error -- $23,940 a year.
This doesn't make sense. Of course you'd spend that over time (on anything). But spending twice as much over the same five years versus spreading it out is obviously going to be twice the burden (minus $5 a month).
In my multiples fantasy I'm also a SAHM.
OK, you've got a point, especially since you were referring to discretionary spending in a particular year. So during the non overlapping years you're better off not having twins.
In our situation, it's kind of a wash because right now we're putting around $2000 a month extra towards our mortgages, so we would just stop doing that and divert the money to daycare. I've already done my crying and gnashing of teeth over that budget line item, so maybe now I'm just used to that pain. Now if we were to be talking triplets then I'd really have to sharpen my pencil and think long and hard about that one. Not to mention the thought of a triplet or higher pregnancy scares the bejeebus out of me.

I had the same feelings when going through fertility treatments. Now I am glad we just have one to deal with.
Dear Lord no!
And we don't get a break having 2 in daycare, boo!
