Our little lady made her early arrival this Tuesday, January 3 at 7:45 pm! She was 4 lbs, 14 ozs, and 18 inches long.
Long birth story ahead...
We were planning to hold off on delivery until this Friday so I would be at 37 weeks. On Tuesday, we had an u/s to determine if the baby was still breech and get our induction or c-section scheduled. I had a great day on Monday and was feeling well when we went for the u/s on Tuesday afternoon. After the u/s, I got really dizzy sitting in the wheelchair waiting to go back to my room. By the time I got upstairs, I felt horrible. I told my nurse and she checked me and my BP had spiked to 170/112 (I had been holding steady around 140/90). We had also gotten back my most recent blood work and it showed that my liver function was dropping. I started having a headache, dizziness, and horrible, horrible pain near my right ribs. All of a sudden there were 2 doctors and my nurse in my room and everyone seemed pretty urgent. I was told we were delivering that day. Unfortunately, I had eaten lunch already so we had to wait for 6 hours after my meal since we needed a c-section as she was still breech.
They immediately took me down to L&D so I could be monitored more closely and be ready to go for an emergency c-section if things got worse. The bed there was sooo uncomfortable I wanted to cry. They also started me on magnesium to lower the risk of seizures. That stuff is horrible! I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Of course, by this time I'm freaking out that something bad is going to happen to me or the baby, so we spent a very unpleasant few hours waiting.
Going into the OR for the c-section was probably the most terrifying thing I have ever done. My DH had to wait while they got everything ready and I was so scared I was shaking like a leaf. Thankfully my doctor (whom I met that morning for the first time!) was amazing as was my L&D nurse. They were both so calming and were able to comfort me and relax me so everything could be set up. OMG, I wish someone had warned me that the drugs give you the shakes though! They were terrible and I felt so out of control. The actual delivery went really smoothly though, and my DH was amazing during the whole procedure talking to me and trying to keep me calm.
They told me where to look when the baby was out and I was shocked at how small she was. The NICU doctors were there because I wasn't at term to check her. Thank God, despite her tiny size, Evelyn is doing great. She didn't need to go to the NICU at all and has been with us since the birth. She is such a tiny peanut though and I'm so scared I'm going to hurt her. She's been nursing well, but we may have to supplement until my milk comes in. We're trying to avoid it, but she's already down 8% and our pedi doesn't want to go below 10%. I hope not to, but we'll do what it takes until I have enough milk to feed her.
I am so in love with this little baby. We're still in the hospital until at least Saturday since she's a bit small and my doctor wants to make sure I don't have any post-delivery preeclampsia issues. I'll PIP soon, but there's one on FB now.

PAIF/SAIF/PGAL welcome
Congrats! I love her name!
Congrats!!! I also love the name. If I were to ever go insane and decide to have another one, Evelyn is on the list.
I am so glad to hear that everything went well and there were no complications.
ETA: I completed forgot about the "shakes". DH was freaking out in the delivery room because I couldn't stop shaking. No matter how many times that I told him I was not cold, he didn't believe me.

Congratulations! I'm glad she didn't have to go to NICU and that it went relatively smooth for you.
