Anyone been to El Dorado Royale resort?
DH and I are considering going here but I have a few questions: it states it's "gourmet inclusive", forgive my stupidity but does this mean that food and drinks are included in the price? Could we order all the food we want and it already being "paid for"? What activities are there? I didn't see anything adventurous on their website, just things like volleyball or horseshoe. Is 3 days enough time to visit? What was your overall expierence? Would you go again?

Re: Anyone been to El Dorado Royale resort?
We went last March and was upgraded to the emerald suite. It was the best experience so far that DH and I have had at a resort.
All of your meals/drinks are paid for and this includes room service. The service is amazing and top notch.
We just wanted a relaxing week so we just lounged around our pool(the suite had a pool to ourselves overlooking the oceon with lounge chairs and we treated ourselves to several spa days.
It is pricy but well worth it. We will def. be back.
We went there in 2006 and the food and drinks were really good, especially for an all-inclusive. You don't pay extra, just tips. We didn't do any activities at the resort and lounged around. I would say 3-4 days would be nice and relaxing.
I went in June for my honeymoon, and loved it! The food is excellent, there was like over 10 different restaurants to choose from. We were there for 7 days and never repeated a restaurant, except for breakfast. The room service was a great option for lunch and the mini fridge was always fully stocked with our preference of booze (we just told the guy who filled it the first day what we prefered).
As far as activities, I actually thought there were a lot. The K-team running all the activities is a bit cheesey (think middle school summer day camp style), but if you get over it they offer a lot. I did water aerobics a few mornings, a cooking class one afternoon (they kept the wine flowing during that), archery one afternoon, watched a contest in one of the pools (throw different shaped/sized balls through a hoop), played volleyball, etc. There are many excursions you can book through the hotel also, but they cost extra and are done off site. We did the zipline tour, it was amazing!
Every night after dinner we went to "theatre" to check out the shows. The circus one was my favorite, as its a toned down version of cirque del soliel with stunts, etc. It wasn't exactly wild and crazy, but it had enough going on to keep us busy, but they left you alone enough if all you want to do is lay out at the beach or at any of the pools and enjoy the sun.
If I could go back, I'd go for 2 weeks as I wasn't ready to leave after only one. They seriously treat you like your the only guest at the resort. Always asking if you need water, towels, etc. Greeting you by name and just generally being very pleasant and friendly.
