What printer?

We're in the market for a new printer. I'd like it to be multi-functional with scanning capabilities. I also want one that is craft friendly for printing pictures and things from photo shop. If you love your printer...which one do you have?

Re: What printer?

  • I have an HP Photosmart Premium.  I love it.

It can be used wireless (so if I bring my laptop to another room, I can still print which I think is awesome, haha)

    It is also a scanner/copier.

Photos print excellently and the cartridges are not too high-priced either.

  • Can you refill the ink cartridges for this or do you have to completely replace?

  • When I was printer shopping last, I ended up with a Canon MP970. It's a 3-in-1 and has negative scanning capabilities (which is what took me so long to find). I got a refurbished one otherwise it would have been $$$. The only downside is because it's a photo printer, it has a bunch of ink cartridges inside vs just b&w and color. I don't really print photos at home (too lazy, photo paper is expensive, etc.) so I don't go through it that fast and I just buy cheaper, off-brand ink cartridges online.

I'm not entirely sure, I always just buy new ones.  It takes HP564 and has about 4-5 cartridges.
