Re: Recommend your Freezer...

  • Are you looking for a chest style freezer?  If so, we got ours from Costco several years ago and we LOVE it!  Its down in our basement (was in the garage at our old townhouse) and it works really well.  We didn't notice much of a change in our electricity bill when we started using it & it hold the temperature very well.  We've only had to defrost it 1 time in about 4 years.  I'd definitely recommend looking into the chest style freezer at Costco :)
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
  • Before E was born, we got a small chest freezer from Sears. I think it was around 175-200. It's in our garage and has been really nice. No issues with it so far!

  • We have a Magic Chef chest freezer from Home Depot that we got a few years ago and we love it.  My parents have an upright one & the only problem with those is sometimes the door doesn't get closed all the way or comes open & that can cause loss of food from defrosting.  I would recommend a chest freezer.

  • We have an upright that my parents got us when DD was born - my dad said he didn't want to hear my whining about how I had no freezer space to store breastmilk. Ha! It's been great, and I think he got it at Lowes. It was maybe $250? And it has a REALLY obnoxious alarm on it if the door is left open for very long, which is nice. I didn't want a chest since the footprint is a lot bigger, and have been very pleased with it.

No more baby siggie pics. Boo.

  • We bought the smallest chest size ( I think it is 5 cu. ft) and it is great. We got it at Best Buy before baby and it's full of my OCD pre-baby planning. DH is frustrated because people keep bringing us food and we have no where to put it. Stick out tongue
