So I got a very happy surprise this morning - one of my oldest pals from school is getting married, and she has asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding. Her sister is the matron-of-honor (I'm assuming) and I know it will just be the two of us. I'm absolutely honored and delighted, and have pretty much been grinning about it all day.
I've only been a bridesmaid once before, about 12 years ago, and I seriously didn't know what the helll I was doing - I was only 19 years old. I just had my sister for my maid-of-honor when I got married and one male friend as a brides man, so I still don't really know the protocol. The MOH is the one that's supposed to plan the shower and bachelorette party, right? And then the bridesmaids help out with that, but she's primarily the one spear-heading that stuff, right? Do I wait until the MOH contacts me, or would it be pushy or something if I contacted the MOH to see what she has in mind for these things? The wedding is not until next fall, so we've got awhile.
Re: Help me be a good bridesmaid. :)
This. I'm a planner so it I don't think it would hurt anything to at least touch base with the MOH.
