  • The Science Museum and Kew would be awesome! We went to the Science Museum in May and DS luuuurrrrved it.

  • i would also suggest the transit museum - stuff for kids and it's just cool to see old horse drawn carts, trams, and trains. they can go sit in old train cars too.

  • I always saw lots of kids at the modern art type museums... Tate Modern, Hayward Gallery, maybe the Design Museum.

I would also go to Hampton Court Palace which has demos from the whole times like metal making and customs. There is a ton of grass/open fields for running around.

Kew would also be good of course!

  • My son LOVED the Peter-Pan themed Princess Diana Memorial Playground. He also enjoyed the Science Museum.

  • Is there a reason that you haven't considered the British Museum?  They have some great kids programs.

  • On the topic of park recommendations, I HIGHLY recommend going to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Playground.  It is located in Kensington Gardens.  If you are in front of and looking at Kensington Palace, the park is to your right.  Tube stations nearby include Queensway and Lancaster Gate (Queensway is closest I believe).  The playground is amazing - it has a pirate ship!!  And there's a little kiosk that sells coffee and drinks and snacks and sandwiches right outside the playground gates :)

No real reason except concern that the kids would be bored.  I might have to fit it in one day (is that the museum with tons of Egyptian stuff?), DS does learn about real artists in his art class so hopefully he will not be too bored.

The Diana playground is definitely at the top of the list of our To-Dos!

I visited a year ago and was delighted at how well the museum was laid out.  It was light and airy with an enclosed central courtyard.  There were exhibits you could touch.  And many things are just huge - like entire walls from palaces!
