It's nice to know the back story for Rumpelstiltskin. I thought this episode was great!

I enjoyed it too, I want to know what happens to his son, I guess we'll find that out later hopefully.
I'm still upset about the whole Graham thing though, I hope they at least have him in some scenes fromt the Fairy Tale world
I love this show more and more everytime it is on.
Can I just say that I love the way they dress Regina!
I loved the back story and can't wait to see what Mr. Gold will want from Emma.
I am looking forward to next week's episode also.
Loved the episode this week! I like Mr. Gold, I think the Dark one just gets in the way.
I also thought it was a great episode. When he summoned the Dark One I was so excited for the effects in the scene and was so surprised by the twist.
I tried to type out the backstory, but it's kind of confusing to type it out. Maybe google it?
To me, it seemed like being the Dark One/having that magic around you maybe makes you crazy? The original Dark One said that the magic comes at a price.
He's got to know the truth in Storybrook from everything he was saying and stuff. But then, it seems like his life there is much better than in fairy tale land so why would he want it to go back?

By the way he used the "desperate soul" line at the end with Emma makes me think looking for someone (Emma) to replace him as the dark one. Remember Soso or Sozo (previous dark one) used the same line on Rumplestilskin.
I did like his back story. Although his life wasn't great in the enchanted forest, he seemed to be a pacifist who didn't believe in sending kids to war, which is redeeming. Nowadays those qualities would be appreciated. Perhaps he misses who he was? I don't think he ever wanted the power, he just wanted to save his son. It does seem like he may want to pass the power onto Emma. Maybe he's found a loop hole? A way to bring about consciousness, but stay in present times???
