XP: where to eat in San Diego?
I'm headed to SD for 2 nights this week for work and staying in the gaslamp district. Looking for recommendations for dinner for 2 nights. was thinking seafood as I'm in a landlocked state - but we're up for anything. thanks!!
Re: XP: where to eat in San Diego?
It's a chain, but Oceanaire is still great for seafood.
Sushi Deli 2 might also be a nice choice for you - a little different kind of seafood.
Other recommendations for downtown San Diego:
Neighborhood - probably my favorite downtown restaurant. The menu is good and varied and I love their beer selection. They also are home to Noble Experiment - a "secret" speakeasy.
Searsucker - I've only been here for lunches, but the food is good enough that I would recommend it for dinners also. Think "comfort food" with a twist.
Currant - This is a favorite for before the theater or before we catch a plane. The happy hour is great - for food, not just drinks. Although frankly, I'm partial to anyplace that has a daily truffled popcorn special.
The Lincoln Room - This is another great comfort food kind of place - I love their mac and cheese with bacon.
Dobsons - This is a classic San Diego institution. I'm allergic to mussles, so I can't vouch for it, but DH claims their mussel bisque is heavenly. I'm a big fan of the steak dishes.
Cafe Chloe - Inexpensive french. It's delicious, but the place is small, so get there early!
Those are all in the Gaslamp - if you have a car though I can give you some better recommendations that are a bit farther afield.
